How do I check my visa status?

A little information about your visa status can go a long way (!)  So, in order to make life a little easier (and avoid any unwanted surprises), we’ve developed this guide.  It’s always a good idea to know where you stand so we’ll explain how you can check your visa status easier and faster

How to check my visa status?

You can check your visa online using the Department of Home Affairs Visa Entitlement Verification Online system (VEVO). It checks your Australia visa status, and visa conditions for visa holders, employers, education providers, and other organizations.

The system is easy to use, personalized, and only requires registering to use it.

You can access the VEVO website below:

You can use VEVO to send proof of your visa conditions. This can to others, for example, current or prospective employers, landlords, or the government of a country you would like to visit if this is required.

Note that if you arrived in Australia before 1990 and have not left since you may not have a searchable record. You may be required to request an electronic visa record as a long term

Resident.
